This was an interesting and slightly more time consuming installation due to the number of airbags and a factory fitted panoramic sunroof.
One of the questions we are regularly asked is “why does it take so long to install a dash cam, my mate says it’s really easy….”
Like most things in life, knowledge is key! Most modern vehicle’s are packed with technology and airbags. Time and time again we see poorly installed dash cams (and other devices) with cables run over the airbag which would hamper the safe deployment of the airbag rendering it pretty useless in a accident and badly made power connections!
This Land Rover Discovery was no exception! These vehicle’s have a lot of airbags and tech. We safely and neatly installed the equipment, stripping out the rear tailgate trim to minimise the amount of cable visible and running all the cables from front to rear avoiding sun roof channels, drainage pipes and picking up “safe power feeds” for the Thinkware F770 front and rear system to ensure no fault lights appear on the dash and correct use of the parking mode option.
The end result was a very happy customer and we really enjoyed the challenge this Installation presented.
